For the first time since being charged with a felony, Lindsay Lohan is speaking out about allegedly stealing a $2500 necklace from a Venice, Calif. jewelry store.
"I just want to be on set again, and left alone to just work!" the 24-year-old actress posted on her Twitter account Thursday. "Fyi- i would never steal, in case people are wondering. I was not raised to lie, cheat, or steal."
The Mean Girls star appeared in a Los Angeles court on Wednesday for her arraignment, where her probation was revoked and she was released on $40,000 bail. The actress entered a not guilty plea and hopes to make a deal.
"Ms. Lohan maintains her innocence, and now that I've seen the police reports, I believe the case is entirely defensible," the starlet's lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley said. "Having said that, we will entertain a discussion concerning a plea if it means no jail so that she can move forward with her recovery and her career."
As for the criticism about the tight, white dress Lohan wore to the courthouse, she says her outfit should not be a factor in her legal drama.
"What i wear to court shouldn't be front page news," she posted. "It's just absurd. god bless xox L."
